So much has happened since last posting. Well, I'm definitely feeling a lot bigger, which is nice because it means baby boy is growing nicely. On the other hand, that also brought .. . yikes . . .stretch marks. I read somewhere online someone use the term "battle scars" and I think I'll use that instead to call the stretching of the skin to make room for baby.
So this past Sunday my colleagues threw me the nicest baby shower. It was very relaxed and intimate - not to mention, they had some yummy treats and thoughtful gifts. Someone made the cutest cake from scratch with baby blocks with the letter A, C, J (these were easy letter for her to draw on).

There was also homemade lemonade, cookies, monkey bread, and blue punch with ice cream. We chatted, laughed, women shared "mommy" stories and advice, and I opened gifts.
Our boy received the cutest knitted sweater, books in English and Spanish, the tiniest pampers, books on caring for newborns/infants, just to name a few. What a perfect way to end the school year . .. this baby and I are so lucky to be surrounded by such sweet women on this campus.

Well, I couldn't let this pregnancy go by without some special keepsakes of it. I asked my colleague, Chema, to take the pics because although he takes pictures as a hobby, he has a wonderfully creative eye and combines photography with digital art. I was soooo excited when he agreed to do my shoot. It was just a like a regular professional shoot with backgrounds and studio lighting. We had discussed what kind of pictures I like and I told him I like ones that see motherhood and pregnancy in a different way, but still captures the tenderness and awe of this event. I feel he did just that, and I LOVE my pics! When we saw the proofs, I was more worried about my imperfections while he cared about the lighting . . . .women .. . ha! Nonetheless, Tai and I are blessed to have a friend like him for his generosity and plain 'ol sincerity. Ahh, life is good :)
